In motion is the future

Who we are

You blink and the world is different. It's exciting, it's thrilling. Now imagine working some blinks ahead. There you will find us.

Open Bossa is the response of Nokia Technology Institute (INdT) to this fast-paced environment where people will be (if not already) connected 24/7 to a converged and web-optimised multimedia computer. So where do we fit in? In everyone's pockets. By developing great and beautiful solutions to the demands of end-users who love testing new applications as much as we love coding them. Well, but this leads us to...

What we do

Quoting the great and wise Yoda: "always in motion is the future". Any resemblance to the very real set of business challenges that rises on the convergence horizon is not purely coincidental, and definitely not a science-fiction movie. Future is indeed in motion and the force will be with those who embrace its opportunities with openness.

Basically, that is what we do: Future in motion. With emotion. Openness, collaboration and that spirit of jedis creativeness and innovation.

How we do

Our team uses Linux-based platforms to build applications for portable handheld devices. Our lab is where we push the boundaries of the bleeding-edge industry by daring to always ask: "is this the better, the smarter, the cleaner and more usable way to do it?". If there is a slight doubt about any of those attributes, we start digging up again.

Our team not only provide open source reference implementations to the developers community, but also share information and experiences with institutions and organizations ready to work with mobile embedded platforms.

And being a reference to a community who works with fast-changing open source solutions is understanding that knowledge is built up with the mobility of ideas.

INdT

Nokia Technology Institute started its activities in 2002 in Manaus, North of Brazil. One year later, Brasília, the country's capital, became its headquarters. Today, besides the offices in those two cities, the institute also works with a research center in Recife, Northeast of Brazil.

Financed by resources coming from Nokia Brazil through the Brazilian Informatics Law and also by solutions and services provided by our researches and developers, INdT is proud to take part in the compelling dynamics of convergence demands.
